Transport truck driver
Description -
Job Duties & Responsibilities :

Safely load and unload freight while ensuring that cargo is properly positioned, secured, and protected during transportation.

Obtain and carry all necessary permits, customs documents, shipping paperwork, and other documentation required for cross-border and international transportation.

Operate and drive tractor-trailers and other heavy commercial vehicles to transport goods and materials over long-haul, provincial, territorial, and international routes.

Regularly monitor the overall condition of the truck and trailer, including tires, lights, brakes, refrigeration or cold-storage systems, and other mechanical and safety equipment.

Collect or make payments related to freight, delivery charges, or other transportation services when required.

Carry out brake adjustments and minor servicing within the scope of the driver's responsibilities to help maintain the vehicle in safe operating condition.

Complete thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and promptly report any mechanical, safety, or equipment issues.

Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs as required to keep the truck and related equipment in proper working condition.

Maintain regular communication with the central dispatch team, providing updates regarding routes, deliveries, delays, vehicle conditions, and other matters affecting transportation operations.

Accurately maintain records of cargo, delivery details, hours of service, mileage, fuel consumption, inspections, and other required transportation information.

Secure, tarp, and protect loads as necessary and ensure that all cargo remains safe and properly secured throughout the trip.

Follow all applicable transportation, highway safety, hours-of-service, customs, and company policies while operating the vehicle and completing deliveries.
Eligibility Requirements-
- A Secondary school graduation certificate is the minimum educational requirement for this job.
- No experience required, on-the-job training will be provided.
- A valid regular driver's license is often required to start the hiring process.
- AZ class license preferably be required.
- Background checks to ensure that one has no disqualifying criminal history.
- A good understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards is crucial.
- Strong communication skills in English are essential for understanding road signs, and regulations, andeffectively communicating with others.

- Salary : $37.00 to 40.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 30 hours per week
- Overtime :1.5 times gross pay after completion of 44 hours
- Vacation Pay : 4% on every pay period
