Position Details
- Employment Type: Full-time, permanent position of indeterminate duration (no end date)
- Work Schedule: 35–50 hours/week, Monday to Friday, weekends as per operational needs
- Work Weeks: 52 weeks per year

Compensation & Benefits
- Wage: $22/hour, payable bi-weekly
- Vacation Pay & Leave: Vacation pay, calculated at 4% of gross wages, will be included on each pay cheque in accordance with employment standards, plus statutory holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities – Welder
- Perform welding, fabrication and repair work on structural steel, construction components, heavy equipment and metal parts used in construction and excavation operations.
- Measure, cut, grind, clean and fit steel and other metal materials to prepare components for fabrication, installation or repair according to project requirements.
- Set up and operate SMAW, GMAW and FCAW welding equipment, selecting suitable electrodes, wire, shielding gas and machine settings based on the material and type of work.
- Fabricate, assemble, install and repair metal supports, frames, brackets, guards and other structural components used in the company’s construction projects and equipment.
- Read and interpret work orders, measurements, sketches and construction drawings to determine dimensions, positioning and welding requirements for assigned work.
- Repair damaged, cracked or worn components on construction machinery and related equipment by removing damaged sections, preparing surfaces and completing the required weld repairs.
- Perform equipment maintenance, structural repairs and metal modifications on construction machinery and other company equipment as required.
- Use grinders, cutting equipment, drills and other hand and power tools to shape, prepare and finish metal components before and after welding.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for proper fit, alignment and visible defects, and carry out necessary adjustments or corrective work.
- Complete assigned welding and repair work independently while coordinating with supervisors, equipment operators and construction crews at residential, commercial and other project sites.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools and work areas in safe working condition and follow company safety procedures when handling welding equipment, compressed gases, hot materials and other construction-site equipment.
