Instructor Therapist, Special Programs for Persons with Disabilities (NOC 4215)

We are looking for an Instructor Therapist to join an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy team.  The Instructor Therapist will implement the ABA program led by a Clinical Supervisor on a one to one basis at home.


 


Job details



  • Location: Thornhill, ON

  • Salary: $28.00 hourly

  • Working hours:  Full-time, possibility of additional hours

  • Vacancies: 1 Vacancy

  • Terms of employment: Permanent

  • Start date: As soon as possible


 


Roles and Responsibilities



  • Implement ABA/IBI programs and the behaviour intervention plan as outlined by Clinical Supervisor

  • Assist child with physical limitations, orientation and mobility skills, and cognitive, social and emotional barriers to develop skills across independence and daily living

  • Conduct assessments, collect and graph daily data for monitoring child’s progress and evaluating program progress

  • Create and organize instructional materials for each treatment

  • Collaborate with parents, other therapists, school team and other professionals, to develop programs for clients' special needs

  • Participate in parent training and attend supervision meetings


 


Job requirements


Languages



  • English


 


Education



  • Degree/Diploma in education or a related field


 


Qualifications and Training



  • Certification in Autism Behavior Science

  • Certification in Standard First Aid & CPR Level HCP/AED


 


 


Experience



  • Experience with children with ASD and implementation of ABA methodologies for a minimum of 1 year

  • Open to feedback and willing to participate in and successfully complete ongoing training and learning opportunities

  • Flexibility with scheduling - some evenings and Saturday availability

  • Experience with recording and graphing treatment data

  • Ability to work collaboratively with parents and team members in the treatment planning and execution process

  • Ability to work in a team setting

  • Ability to present information (both written and oral) sensitively and effectively
