Home Child Care Provider

Wage: $23.50 per hour

Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Home Child Care Provider to provide essential care and support. The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities, personal care, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment for the children. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive and responsible care for the child.
• Ensure the child’s safety, well-being, and emotional support.
• Assist with homework, school-related tasks, and after-school activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized space for the child.
• Engage in conversations to support the child's emotional health.
• Create a nurturing and supportive environment.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
• Take the child to and from school, extracurricular activities, and medical appointments.
• Perform light housekeeping duties related to the child (e.g., laundry, tidying up).
• Ensure a structured and stable home environment.
• Keep the guardian/other family members informed about the child’s well-being.
• Maintain records of daily activities, meals, and any behavioral concerns.

Qualifications: 

- 1-12 months of experience in a similar role (home care, nursing, or related field) 

- or College diploma in Healthcare, Nursing, or a related discipline 

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively 

- Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping others

Location:

Work will be provided at the employer's residence in Nanaimo, BC (V9V 1S9).
