Nanny required for care of 4-year-old child.
Hours of work: 40-52.5 hours per week
Shift: 7:30am to 6pm M-F, shift work with evenings and weekends occasionally
Salary: $12.65-15.00, depending on qualifications
Overtime Rate: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations

Job Duties:
Childcare and supervision of a 4-year-old child to occur in employer's private residence
Responsible for feeding, bathing, dressing child
Preparing child for rest periods
Preparing and serving nutritious meals for child
Engaging in learning and play activities in the home
Guiding child in personal hygiene and social development
Tend to emotional well-being of child
Maintaining safe and caring environment in home
Taking child to and from school, appointments activities and organizing outings
Helping child with school assignments and activities
Occasional/light pet care (feeding, letting dog in/out)
Running occasional errands (shopping, groceries etc)
Occasional travel with family possible
Responsible for our household in our absence
Performing other related duties as required
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements:
Completion of Canadian high school/secondary education or equivalent
Some first aid and CPR training, or willingness to obtain, is preferred
At least 1 year of full time paid employment as a nanny/caregiver for a toddler age child
Valid drivers license (local or international), clean driving record and comfortable driving
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Must be able to work independently in an unsupervised setting
Clean criminal record
Comfortable doing physical and outdoor recreational activities (biking, winter sports, swimming, hiking etc)
Able to independently plan and organize educational and play activities and outings and manage child’s schedule
Personal Skills:
Dependable, good judgment, flexible, strong interpersonal and communication skills. Energetic and creative with young children. Warm, calm and patient with children. Reliable, organized and can take initiative in managing child’s schedule, activities and outings. Able to guide child’s development with strong values and ethics. Interested in being a key member of our household team.
Transportation:
Driver's license required for use of employer’s vehicle during work to transport child or run errands. Employee must provide own transportation to/from work. Public transit is available near employer's home.
Other Terms:
Employer will be responsible for MSP and WCB coverage. 4% vacation pay as per British Columbia regulations will be paid each pay day on a bi-weekly basis. Optional live-in accommodations available at no charge.
