BABYSITTING CAREGIVER

Warm and friendly couple is seeking a bright, caring, nurturing, flexible, and proactive Babysitting Caregiver to assist us in providing care of our twins (a boy and a girl) who are one-year-old, the twins have happy and outgoing personalities. They will enjoy a variety of activities so the nanny needs to be kind, patient, resourceful, have previous experience working with toddlers and twins, able to laugh, to keep the twins busy with creative activities accordingly to their age. We are looking to integrate someone into our home who is a team player, and who will be treated respectfully and supportively in return. 


JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:



  • Supervise and care the one-year-old twin toddlers in the employer’s residence.

  • Maintain an open, friendly and cooperative relationship with the babies and family.

  • Respond quickly in soothing and in a tender manner when twins cry.

  • Focus on the care and well-being of the twins.

  • Sterilize bottles, prepare formulas, feed twins on a regular schedule and change diapers frequently.

  • Bathe, dress and prepare twins for naps and bedtime.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment at employer’s home.

  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the twins’ care, including: making twins' bed, washing the twins’ clothes, cleaning up after meals and tidying play areas.

  • Enjoy time with the twins, like taking babies for a walk in a stroller, playing with them, reading and have fun at local parks.

  • Willing to share information with healthcare professionals in order to support optimal twins’ health if needed.

  • May provide emergency care, sick care or backup care if needed.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:



  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience working with children is desired.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English

  • Must be able to work independently in an unsupervised setting.

  • Knowledge of First aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training.

WEIGHT HANDLING: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).


WORK SETTING: Employer’s home located in New Westminster, BC.


LOCATION OF WORK: Near the intersection of Memorial Drive & Francis Way, New Westminster, BC.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent, Full-Time, Long-Term. 


HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week.


Mondays through Fridays: 7:00am – 5:30pm.


(Hours may change and vary; however, the nanny should be able to work any 8-hour shift during this work schedule and weekends, if required. Must be flexible with the parents’ schedule).


WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:



  • Repetitive tasks

  • Physically demanding

  • Overtime requirements


WAGES: $15.00 per hour


OVERTIME: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations.


BENEFITS:



  • Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer.

  • 4% vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday
    on a bi-weekly basis.


ANTICIPATED START DATE OF EMPLOYMENT:  As soon as possible.
