Title: Pest Controller (NOC 7444) – 1 vacancy

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full-time, Overtime, Day
Salary: $25.50 to $32.50 per hour, depending on experience, for 40 hours per week, with potential of overtime

Benefits: CPP, WCB, EI
Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Skill requirements:
Education: Completion of High School

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Provincial pesticide applicator license is required
Work experience: More than 2 years of work experience as pest controller and pest bird management installer is an asset

Languages: English, Serbian an asset
Major work area:
Type of establishment / Work setting experience: Commercial, Industrial, Private
Specific skills:

  • Inspect buildings and outside areas at regular intervals or at specific request of property owner to detect signs of infestation

  • Determine type of treatment required and provide estimate of costs to clients

  • Prepare and spray chemical mixture on infested areas using mechanical or electric sprayer to kill insects, rodents and other pests

  • Control, remove, and exclude animals, such as skunks or raccoons

  • Install animal control barriers such as needle strips, netting, screens and other devices to keep animals off property.

  • Clean out areas that harbor pests using rakes, shovels, brooms or mops

  • Advise clients on how to prevent pest infestation

  • Install pest bird protective netting with frame and other pest exclusion materials in gardens, orchards and agricultural fields.

Work location information: Various locations, Greater Vancouver Area
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
