Skills and Employment Requirements: -
- Secondary (High) school graduation certificate
- 7 months to less than 1 year
- English
Job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: -
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods,
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef,
- Oversee Kitchen operations
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment,
- Set-up and oversee buffets
- Clean kitchen and work areas,
- Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies,
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas,
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food,
- Order supplies and equipment,
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers,

Fast paced environment, Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Attention to details, standing for extending periods, Overtime may be required
