Logistics Supervisor

Somal Transport is an Ontario leading  company which provides a wide range of transportation, warehousing, and logistics services throughout North America. The company is based in Brampton, ON and we are hiring 2 full-time Logistics Supervisors to join our team.  

Job Description

Employment groups: Students, Youth, Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, Visible minorities, Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada, Seniors, Apprentices

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time, 32.5 to 40 hours / week

Start date: As soon as possible

Employment conditions: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Night

 

Job requirements

Languages: English

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Experience: 1 to less than 7 months

Ability to Supervise: 3-4 people

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Attention to detail

Establish work schedules and procedures, Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments, Prepare and submit reports, Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery, Arrange for maintenance and repair work, Resolve work related problems, Train workers in duties and policies, Arrange training for staff, Conduct performance reviews, Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies, Co-ordinate, assign and review work, Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization

Weight Handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs.)

Work Setting: Transportation

Workers Supervised: Purchasing and inventory clerks, Transportation route and crew schedulers, Dispatchers and radio operators
