Framing Carpenter

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time for 40 hours / week

Job location: Vancouver, BC

Major Work Area: Construction, Renovation, Maintenance and repair

Skills:

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate
requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood
substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay
subflooring and erect walls. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings
and hardware. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in commercial and residential jobs. Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
Most of work settings are Commercial and Residential.

Education and Experience: This position requires Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. The language requirement is English but punjabi speaking is an asset. The candidate has experience of 1 to 2 years. As per BC Employment Standards Act, 4% Vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each pay period with 10 days of unpaid vacation or 10 days of paid vacation with no vacation on each pay period.

Safety Tools:
Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles. 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Large workload, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding,
Combination of sitting, standing and walking. The work environment is noisy, dusty and at
heights.
