Education: College/CEGEP
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills: Order supplies and equipment, Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
Children's Ages: Infant (3 months - 11 months), 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, 5 years
Early Childhood Educators Specific Skills:
Ø Develop and implement programs for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years.
Ø Ensure Children security and well-being all the time.
Ø Lead activities by telling/reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
Ø Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
Ø Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
Ø Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
Ø Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
Ø Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
Ø Assist the manager in Maintaining and a safe and healthy environment
Ø Report Manager of any potential workplace hazards and any accident, injuries and illness
Work Setting: Child Care Centre
Credentials (Certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate
