At Paul, bread and pastries are baked fresh in-house daily by French-trained chefs, according to the bakery restaurant. Additionally, the café location has breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner menus, promising "an authentic French experience."

We are currently hiring a full-time Line Cook for our kitchen, who will bring their culinary passion and skills to support out kitchen team.

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Estimated Starting Date: As soon as possible

Position available: 1

Wage: $17.25 - $18.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Work Hours: 30-40 hours per week

Benefit: 4% vacation pay & Group Insurance Benefits & Tips

 

Job Duties:

  • Set up cooking utensils, prepare ingredients, and cook food according to recipe per the instructions of the Chef
  • Communicate with wait staff on daily specials and dietary restrictions as needed
  • Work with Chef / Kitchen Manager to oversee kitchen operations and delegate tasks to kitchen helper staff, in order to ensure the quality and efficiency of meal preparation
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, ensuring freshness of food and discarding out-of-date items as necessary
  • Maintain the cleanliness of workstations and follow health and safety regulations from PAUL corporation and local authorities
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers, providing guidance and support to new trainees as necessary

Qualification:

  • Completion of secondary school is required
  • Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks OR completion of college or other program in culinary arts or food safety OR 1+ year of commercial cooking experience is required
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills are required
  • Ability to time-manage and work under pressure is required
