Studio JCI, architecture firm providing full-design services for commercial and residential sectors, is hiring for a full time permanent Architectural Design Technologist.

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Pay rate: 52k-60k (negotiable)
  • Hours per week: 40 ( 9 am – 6 pm)

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the development of architectural designs

  • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports

  • Prepare manual and CAD (computer-assisted design) drawings, specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantities of material from conceptual drawings and instructions

  • Construct architectural and display models, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs

  • Prepare contract and bidding documents

  • Willing to take initiative and go “above and beyond” what is expected.

  • Complete revisions as per instructions from site

  • May supervise construction projects and co-ordinate, monitor and inspect work done by

    others

 

 Job requirements:

 Education: College or higher in related fields

 - Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in an architectural firm (strong co-op experience also considered)

 - Proficiency with Revit and BIM software, 3D Rendering, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office

 - Highly organized with the ability to manage time and deadlines in a fast paced work environment

 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

 - Strong ability to prioritize and deliver on tasks and tight Deadlines

 - Highly motivated with the ability to work independently within a collaborative team

 - Proactive and detail oriented

 - Experience in construction document preparation and field observation

 - Urban Design Analytical Skills

 - Ability to work in a faced-paced environment and work under pressure
