Automotive Service Technician
ABOUT THE ROLE
An Automotive Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining cars, trucks, SUVs, and other vehicles to ensure optimal performance for drivers. Key duties include using diagnostic tools to identify potential issues, explaining vehicle problems to customers, and performing necessary maintenance or repairs to prevent future breakdowns.
The candidate will mainly focus on diagnosing and repairing vehicle engine systems while working under the close supervision of a Licensed Service Technician. The employer encourages applicants who are enrolled in apprenticeship programs and will provide on-site training to the selected candidate.

Work experience:
Prior related work experience is preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided by the employer.
Wages: $34.25/hour (over time, will be paid at 1.5 times above the basic wage rate)
Additional benefits:

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday (9:00 am to 6:00 pm)
- Saturday (9:00 am to 4:00 pm)
- 40-44 hours per week (additional hours available on certain weeks)

Job duties and required skills:
- Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles
- Identifying problems with vehicles using diagnostic equipment
- Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service
- Plan repair procedures after discussing with the direct supervisor and following the charts manuals
- Test the functionality of parts and systems after repair to meet the specifications
- Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation
- Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles such as lubrication and tune ups
- Help keep garage clean and organized
- Keep a professional appearance
