Home Support Worker

We are looking for a responsible and reliable Home Support Worker for a bedridden female patient in Surrey, BC. This will be a full-time position. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily personal hygiene, various care needs, and managing transfers using specialized equipment. Additionally, the caregiver will assist with feeding, ensuring the patient’s overall comfort and well-being, and providing companionship.

The candidate will be performing the job duties mentioned below:

• Provide daily personal hygiene care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting

• Operate transfer equipment with proficiency

• Plan and prepare special meals and feeding

• Perform routine health-related duties

• Give medications according to the schedule

• Perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes and making beds

• Perform airway management routine, and use BIPAP

Skills and qualifications required for the position:

• Minimum 2 years of work experience in caregiving

• Experience caring for bedridden/wheelchair bound patients

• Certified in First Aid

• Health Care Assistant or support worker training certification

• Current Tuberculosis Test Report

• Clear Criminal Record

• Basic English communication skills

• Proficiency in Mandarin (mandatory)

Pay rate: 

$29 per hour

Does not have to be a live-in caregiver. Live-in is not a condition of employment

4% vacation pay
