Job Description:

Prepare and cook all tandoori dishes and foods – Chicken Tikka, Seekh Kabab, Reshmi Tikka,
Paneer Tikka, Lamb Tikka, Tandoori Fish, Tandoori Prawns, Tandoori Roti and Naan

Specialize in preparing and cooking North Indian dishes

Prepare and cook special meals for customers as instructed by dietitian or chef
-
Schedule and supervise kitchen staff and helpers
-
Oversee kitchen operations
-
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
-
Set up and oversee buffets
-
Plan menu, ensure quality of food, and determine portion sizes
-
Train staff in cooking, preparation and handling food
-
Work with specialized cooking equipment such as Tandoor (clay oven) and deep fryer
-
Clean kitchen and work area
Employment Requirements:
-
Completion of secondary school
-
Completion of a three year apprenticeship program for cooks or completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety or several years of commercial cooking experience
Job Environment: Restaurant, Fast-paced environment, Long periods of standing and may require lifting up to 20 lbs
