JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
- Construct and assemble cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the foreman and client;
- Clean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding tools;
- Be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently and the projects will meet budgetary restrictions;
- Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products;
- Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications;
- Operate woodworking machines and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components;
- Interpret client requests and provide mock-ups for clients to approve prior to commencing work;
- Coordination of material and resource needs as well as the project schedule with the Operations and Project Manager;
- Maintains established safety rules and a clean and organized work site;
- Delegate duties and responsibilities among crew members/general labour;
- Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints;
- Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products;
- Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- SECONDARY SCHOOL OR TRADE CERTIFICATE.
- MINIMUM OF 2-3 YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN RELATED FIELD.
- PROFICIENT IN USING OF ELECTRIC AND MANUAL TOOLS.
- ABILITY TO READ TECHNICAL DOCUMENTS AND DRAWINGS.
- WILLINGNESS TO FOLLOW SAFETY PROCEDURES ALL THE TIMES.
