JOB DUTIES: Supervise soil preparation, fertilize, crop planting, crop spraying, cultivating, or harvesting. The worker will be responsible for operating various equipment in the fields, to plant, maintain, and harvest our crops during summer. During wintertime, the worker wil do basic maintenance on farm buildings and machines. This involves operating an air seeder, high clearance sprayer combine harvester, as well as other various tractors and equipment. He will supervise scouting of fields to ensure they are free of weeds and disease. He will maintain and repair equipment as needed. Drives and operates farm machinery, such as trucks, tractors, or self-propelled harvesters. Perform general farm duties as required. The worker will assume all duties and responsibilities when the owner/manager is not around to manage the farm. Maintain quality control and production records. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general and seasonal farm workers and harvesting labourers. Develop work schedules and establish procedures. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Assist with basic maintenance of equipment and farm buildings.

REQUIREMENTS:

2-3 years of experience in relevant field is required.

Completion of Secondary School ( grade 12) is required.

Applicants must be a team player, able to do physical hard work, supervise 3 to 4 people, fluent in  English.

Hot, odours, dusty , could be dangerous and noisy work environment. Wage will be determined by experience.

Wage range is between $25 – $28 per hour. 30- 50 Hours per week. 2-3 years experience grain farming, and modern farm equipment. Valid driver’s license or willing to obtain license.
