Additional Perks

The employer agrees to assume the transportation costs of the round trip travel of the employee between his/her country of permanent residence and place of work in Canada or if the employee is located in Canada, the employer will pay the cost of transportation from the employee's location (employee address) to the employer work location which is 61 Saskatchewan Ave East, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0L8 and one-way transportation back to the employee's country of permanent residence

Duties

• Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
• Ensure adequate supplies are available to meet daily menu plan requirements
• Ensure the quality of food is outstanding each and every time
• Keep the work area, utensils and production equipment clean and sanitized
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Supervise & Schedule duties of kitchen team members.
• Escalate major issues when necessary (e.g. safety risks, equipment failure)
• Assist in menu planning, inventory counts and grocery orders
• Follow proper storage and rotation of all food supplies.
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications
• Oversee kitchen operations
• Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes

Requirements

• Secondary School Completion
• Minimum one year of work experience as a cook
• Ability to legally work in Canada
