Bricklayer (NOC 72320)

Wage: $48.78 per hour + benefits according to LiUNA Local 183 collective agreement (full-time position; 35-40 hours per week)  

 

Location of Work:  Various locations across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario

 

Job Description:

-      Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units

-      Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing

-      Construct and install prefabricated masonry units and other decorative installations

-      Cut and trim brick and concrete blocks to specifications using hand and power tools

-      Lay conventional or tongue and groove blocks without mortar to build walls or foundation walls

-      Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces

-      Waterproof masonry

-      Remove and replace existing masonry work for alterations or restorations

-      Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications

 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

-      Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages

-      Physically demanding; Bending, crouching, kneeling, etc.; Handling heavy loads; Standing for extended periods

 

Job Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in bricklaying
