Home Support Worker

Scarborough, ON, M1T 3P7 is looking for a Home Support Worker for a 90-year-old female.

The position is full time.

The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evenings.

Salary: $19 per hour

Hours: 30 hours per week

Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free

Work Location: Must work in employer's/client's home.

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate

Job Duties:

• Provide bedside and personal care of the senior including but not limited to bathing, dressing, ambulation, feeding, and medication reminders
• Serve as a companion to the senior
• Select and prepare meals for the senior
• Have interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills
• Perform housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, keeping the room clean, laundry, etc.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable and caring environment for the senior
• Keep proper care records and report changes to the family
• Keep good communication with the family and supervisors regarding the senior’s condition
• Administer first-aid or CPR to the senior when necessary

Requirements:

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
• Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.

Experience:

Caregiving: 1 to less than 7 months
