conduit installer – electric power systems

We are currently searching for one conduit installer – electric power systems.

 

Work Location:

Various sites in the GTA

 

Duties:

• Erect and maintain steel, wood or concrete poles, towers and guy wires
• Splice, solder and insulate conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution and transmission networks
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
• Climb ladders or operate hydraulic buckets
• Work in confined spaces to install power lines and cables and associated equipment

 

You will be required to train apprentices.

 

 

Requirements:

• Completion of a provincial three- or four-year lineman/woman apprenticeship program
  or
  a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in electrical technology

Work setting:

Urban area, Rural area, Electrical contractor, Various locations

 

Work conditions and physical capabilities

Handling heavy loads, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Ability to distinguish between colours, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Large workload

 

Transportation/travel information

Valid driver's licence, Own transportation, Willing to travel

 

Terms of Employment:

Permanent Position/40.00 hours per week

Should be available to work a variable work schedule.

 

Hours of Work:

From Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3 pm

 

Language of work:

English

 

 

Salary:

From $ 41.50  to $ 45.00 per hour  depending on your work experience
