Responsibilities

Tasks

• Assist in adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of commercial transport truck systems.
• Confirm findings with the supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace units.
• Discuss repair requirements and completed work with the supervisor.
• Assist in inspecting and testing mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
• Review work orders and repair instructions.
• Road test motor vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose issues.
• Assist in adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of truck-trailer systems.
• Assist in repairing or replacing mechanical units and components.
• Assist in testing and adjusting repaired systems to the manufacturer's specifications.
• Estimate parts and labour costs for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Perform scheduled maintenance services.
• Test and adjust units to specifications.
• Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
• Complete reports to document problems, repairs performed, and work completed.
• Provide customer service.
