Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Retail Sales Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. The Retail Sales Manager reports to the owner of Tribal Rugs and Art and is responsible for the sales and management operations of the store. The ideal candidate is highly motivated who is passionate about contributing to the growth and expansion of our company.

Job Description and Duties:

-          Plan budgets, authorize expenditures, monitor revenues, evaluate operations and organize special promotions, displays and events

-          Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories, implement price and credit policies

-          Work with vendors and manufacturers on negotiations while sourcing the merchandise, bring ineffective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows and monitor the shipments

-          Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers

-          Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met and respond to customer complaints and comments

-          Manage staff and assign duties

-          Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors' operations on sales and develop and implement marketing strategies

-          Address staffing requirements, including the hiring, development and retention of staff


Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Long Term

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Wages:  $33.00 per hour


Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations


Benefits Package:

  • Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by the employer

  • Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis


Location of Work: 1812 Maritime Mews, Vancouver, BC, V6H 3X2, Canada

Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

  • At least three years of experience in the related retail or wholesale management

  • A university degree or college diploma in business administration, the management or related field

  • Able to communicate in English
