The plant is located in the Albion Industrial area of Maple Ridge. Fraser Plastics processes post-consumer and post-industrial plastic, and sell plastic pellets, washed/regrind flakes and baled plastic. We are currently looking for 1 energetic, experienced and efficient Plant Maintenance Electrician to join our team. 
This is a permanent full time position reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Summary:

The Plant Maintenance Electrician is responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, replacement, repair, and testing of energized equipment and circuits; installs electrical conduit systems, feeders, branch circuits, panel boards, transformers, disconnects, variable frequency drives, and other related electrical equipment and systems according to national and local electrical codes; and, examines various electrical systems and makes recommendations for new equipment, repairs, and modifications.  You work as part of a team but would routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties.

Job Description and Duties:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances and maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area


Terms of Employment:
 Permanent Full Time, Long Term

Hours of Work: 
40 hours per week 

Wages:  $39.50 per hour 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations

  • Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer
  • Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

  • Secondary School Completion is an asset
  • At least two years of related experience
  • Ability to communicate in English

    hand-eye co-ordination
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling
  • Strength and agility are necessary for lifting and climbing
