Job Summary:

We are a family of four with kids aged 10 and 14 years-old. We are currently looking for someone who will care for our children. Although we would love to be able to look after their needs all day, my husband and I have very demanding schedules. We are looking for a full-time nanny that will look out for our children with and prove to be responsible, trustworthy, and overall professional. We hope this person will attend to our children as we would. Our ideal applicant has previous experience working with children-teenagers.

 

Job Description and Duties:

• Supervise and care for 2 children (Age: 10, 14) in the employer’s residence.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for the Children
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment at employer’s home
• Instruct the children in personal hygiene
• Oversee the children’s activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings
• Take children to and from school and other appointments
• Perform other related duties as required

 

Education, Experience and Skills requirements:

• Secondary (high) school is an asset
• Related experience is an asset
• Must be able to demonstrate ability to perform the job duties
• Must be able to work independently in an unsupervised setting
• Must be able to communicate in English

Location of work:  Near SE Marine Drive and Argyle St. in Vancouver, BC

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time, Long-Term.  

Hours of work:

• 40 hours per week

Split Shift:  

Mondays through Fridays

7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Weekends, if required.

 

Wages: $15.00 per hour

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations.

Benefits:

• 4% vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday
  on a bi-weekly basis.

Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible.
